WEST Somerset Olympian Peter Baker (pictured) was 'absolutely thrilled' at the news yesterday that Britain had won the bid to hold the 2012 Olympics in London.
Mr Baker, of Millands Lane, Kilve, was recently awarded a prestigious diploma by the International Olympic Committee for his contribution to 'friendship and solidarity'.
"It's wonderful news," he said. Now 82, he will be nearly 90 when the London games take place. "I rather doubt I shall be there." he added.
