A BURNHAM motorist who drank around ten pints and then "raced" another car along Berrow Road at more than 80mph has been found guilty of causing his best friend's death by dangerous driving.
Jurors at Taunton Crown Court this week ruled that 23-year-old Jason Fear was responsible for the death of pal Kevin Gregory, after Mr Gregory was killed in a crash in February last year.
The court was told that the pair had been celebrating Mr Gregory's birthday with a drinking binge in Burnham, during which time they had knocked back about ten pints.
They then got into their cars to drive home - and CCTV footage clocked Fear's Vauxhall Senator travelling at 84mph along Berrow Road, while witnesses said the speeding cars approached with "a Formula One-type noise, at terrific speed, and extremely close together".
