Bridgwater has got one of the biggest teenage pregnancy problems in the county - blamed on "high deprivation" and the "low aspirations" of the town's youngsters.
A shocking study, carried out by Somerset County Council, shows that Sedgemoor has a higher proportion of teenagers getting pregnant than any other region in Somerset - and in turn, Bridgwater has more young mothers than any other area in Sedgemoor.
The most recent figures to be printed show that between 2001 and 2003, 3.8% of women under the age of 18 in Sedgemoor became pregnant - and around 58% of these lived in Bridgwater.
