ILMINSTER will have a new supermarket after district planners approved an associated one-way system at a dramatic meeting of South Somerset District Council's Area West committee last Wednesday.
Councillors split five each side over whether to support planning officer Stephen Belli's recommendation to build a southbound one-way system along Ditton Street, to accommodate traffic heading into the Shudrick Lane store, before Area West chairman Cllr Angie Singleton cast her deciding vote in favour of Mr Belli's recommendation.
