SOMERSET Wildlife Trust has launched an urgent £50,000 appeal to protect an ancient woodland.
The charity wants to buy a 17-acre piece of Aller and Beer Woods, east of Othery.
But it needs the cash to pay for it and its management by the end of this month and has asked members to contribute to its Woodland for the Future initiative.
