POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a nine-year-old girl was assaulted in Yeovil.

It happened on Saturday, May 28, between 11.30am and 12 noon when the girl was cycling along a track in Ninesprings.

As she approached the Railway Inn she was pushed off her bike by two boys who were thought to be aged between 10 and 13.

One of the boys was of a skinny build and was wearing a black woolly hat. The only description of the other boy was that he had dark hair with a long fringe, 5ft tall, of slim build.

The girl was not seriously injured but was left shaken following the incident. Two men who were in the area at the time took the girl back to her home address.

Police are keen to speak to these two men as they may have important information about incident. They are both thought to be in their late teens or early 20s.
