ONE of the most eagerly awaited events in the sailing calendar is now just a few weeks away.

The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club has issued an invitation to all local sailing crews to take part in their Regatta Day and Challenge Cup races.

The event will take place on Sunday, July 3, and the organisers are expecting that their will be a high level of interest in the competition.

The club has classes for multihulls, J/24s, large working boats, small working boats, IRC, sunbeams, PY (two classes) Ajaxs, handicap gaffers, St Mawes One Design, sailing gigs, and bosun dinghies, in fact something for everyone.

Racing starts at 10 am with three races being organised for each class. racing will take place in the Carrick Roads and Falmouth Bay, according to class, with the last races finishing at the club line.

Place results will be available soon after finishing and there will be a prizegiving and barbecue at the club.
