Troon were worthy winners by 13 runs in a tense contest against Penzance at St Clare.

County bowler Justin Stephens in three spells took 3-37 from 12 overs.

Troon openers, skipper Stoddard and prospect Matthew Rowe, added 115 in a great start. Rowe stroked nine boundaries.

Stoddard hit seven fours, then became a victim of a delivery from Aumann who finished with 11-3-34-3.

Long serving Treve Laity deserved better results than his 12-1-61-1, but he did have the wicket of Rowe.

Penzance lost both openers Lord for 34 and Peter Edwards (4), but Kev Nankervis, batting at four, hit a six and five fours before he was stumped in making 52 from 52 balls faced.

Gavin Edwards with 27 was out to the young Rodda who wrecked the home reply with his 11.4-1-31-7 figures. Salerno finished with 11-0-47-2 to help in the narrow away victory as Troon move into fifth place.
