Having just cycled nearly 6,000 miles around Europe on a tandem, and returned to Cornwall, husband-and-wife journalists Huw and Carolyn Thomas are staying in partnership for a new business venture.

Launched this week is The Engine House, a specialist news training company designed to help organisations learn how to use the media to their advantage.

Huw and Carolyn, who worked in Truro prior to their cycling venture, say the new business is based on their combined experience of more than 30 years in local and regional journalism, press office and public relations work.

Carolyn said: "We know from experience many people have good stories to tell and want to get into the news but don't know how to go about it."
