Sports student Kara Lee, from Camborne, has just become the Senior Two Intermediate Solo Twirl UK Champion at the British Baton Twirling National Championships held in Portsmouth.
The 18-year-old also came second in the Fancy Strut and Dance Twirl competitions, and finished seventh in the two baton competition. Kara competes for the Trelawney Twirl Team as well as studying full-time for a sports national diploma at Cornwall College Camborne.
The talented teenager has been twirling from the age of four and has been competing at the national competitions for many years, but this is the first time she has been judged a UK champion.
