THE National Lottery's catchphrase is 'it could be you' and for one lucky South Somerset person it is definitely them - but who is it?

Lottery operator Camelot is desperately appealing for a £266,000-plus lucky ticket holder in the Yeovil area to come forward and collect their prize.

The ticket was bought in the South Somerset area covering Crewkerne, Sherborne and Yeovil for the draw on Saturday, April 30.

It matched five numbers from 2, 23, 26, 30, 39, 47 and the bonus ball, 31, and is worth £266,375.

The money will go to charity if nobody comes forward before October 27 to claim their cash windfall.

Camelot spokesman Fabian Devlin said: "We are keeping our fingers-crossed that the ticket-holder will come forward before October 27.

"Tickets have been kept in all sorts of strange places, which is why we are asking people to cast their minds back and try to remember what they were doing and what they might have done with that ticket."

As with all National Lottery draws, players have 180 days from the date of the relevant draw to claim their prize if they have the winning ticket.

Anyone who believes they may have a winning ticket for any of the National Lottery draws within the 180-day deadline should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.

April 30 - the date of the relevant draw - was a big day locally for supporters of Yeovil Town as the Glovers won their crunch Coca-Cola League Two game at promotion rivals Southend United.

Millions of pounds have gone to charity where winning tickets have been unclaimed. The largest was back in August of last year when a £7,039,469 Lotto Extra jackpot winning ticket bought in the Belfast area was not cashed in.

And there are millions still waiting to be claimed within the 180-day ruling. This includes a ticket from the January 1 draw of this year bought in Richmond-upon-Thames where a jackpot ticket of £3,987,470 is still unclaimed.

If you are the holder of that lucky National Lottery ticket from April 30 then get in touch with the Yeovil Express on 01935-479811. Your anonymity - if desired - will be upheld.
