Council workmen were quick to react when flowers suddenly appeared on the cannon at the Hillhead roundabout on the Penryn bypass. Who was to blame was not clear but all was shipshape by Monday.
In Falmouth on a beach at the eastern end of Church Street car park someone had thrown a toilet and cistern onto the foreshore.
Roger Downham, who took this photograph, said the fly tippers probably drove a car into the car park in order to throw the toilet over the railings. Police were informed and hopes were high that those responsible may have been captured on closed circuit television. Last week graffiti artists were seen defacing a wall of Penrose Sailmakers in Falmouth and police soon became involved.
Police ask anyone who has any information about illegal fly tipping or graffiti artists at work to contact them.
