WESSEX Water who serve the South-West has seen a surge in complaints following price rises in April this year.
The regional watchdog, WaterVoice Wessex, said that complaints increased by 87% this March compared with the same month last year as customers received their new bills.
Prior to this there had actually been a 9% decrease in the number of complaints.
WaterVoice believe that most of the complaints received in March relate to the overall average increase in 2005-06 water and sewerage charges for customers across the region.
Annual bills have risen by an average of 12.35%, while Bristol Water customers have seen an average increase of 17.25%.
