AN EMPLOYEE of Chard firm Numatic International has made the grade in plastics engineering.
Dale Gunn, 20, was one of five to make it to The Plastics Industry Awards, beating off competition from around the country.
Dale (pictured) told the News he was surprised to find out how well he had done in the prestigious awards.
He said: "It's quite a shock for me. I thought my boss Matthew Murphy was pulling my leg at first.
"I'm really pleased to have got through to the final five. It's a national competition, so lots of people were entered for it."
Dale is currently in his final year of a four-year NVQ3 course in general engineering
