PUPILS from Kingsmead Comm-unity School have been banned from going to Wiveliscombe recreation ground during lunch times after vandals attacked the playground equipment.
Although no pupils are thought to be involved in the vandalism, which caused damaged estimated at about £800 last October, the school has taken the measure to make sure they are not blamed.
Wiveliscombe councillor Bryn Wilson, chairman of the recreation ground committee, said: "We believe that we may know who did the damage, but we need information to try and prove it.
"Kingsmead pupils are not involved in the matter, but the school has stopped the children going there during lunchtimes as a safety measure so that they do not get the blame."
