ON arrival at Musgrove Park Hospital last week I was horrified to see the amount of rubbish -- namely cigarette ends -- outside the main entrance to the Duchess Building.

I was at the entrance at 10am and it seemed to me that the number of cigarette ends I encountered could not have accumulated that day.

I was also disgusted to find that the cigarette ends found their way into the reception and caf area, trodden in on the shoes of hospital visitors.

I realise that receptacles are provided, but it appears that they are not being used for their intended purpose.

I only hope this standard of cleanliness and hygiene is not indicative of the standards inside the hospital. It gives a very poor impression to any hospital visitors.
