THE vice-chairman of the Cornwall Rugby Referees' Society, Andy Watts has resigned from his post with immediate effect.
Mr Watts said: "I have attempted to move various areas of Cornwall RRS activities forward, some personally from re-appointments and training earlier in the season, through recruitment, sponsorship and more modern communication methods, but have felt somewhat stymied recently that this was not the preferred avenue for all those within the executive committee.
"As always, one voice alone is much smaller than many others, so I will not waste my time and energy, nor wish to divert the undoubted enthusiasm and group synergy of the CRRS executive from its future path.
"I will continue to manage the annual CRRS dinner and dance, if the executive so wishes. All my other responsibilities will be handled by the chairman in the interim.
"I remain a committed CRRS member, fully supportive of all its members and founding ideals".
However, the chairman of the Cornwall RRS, Mr Ian Hamilton, said the door was always open for Andy to make a return.
