WINS from Dave Robinson, James Williams and Glynn Meredith helped the Angel to a 5-4 win over Helston RBL A last week in division 1 of the West Cornwall Winter Pool League. The Legion remain second but are now 21 points behind Wendron CC, who won all six singles in their 7-2 win over the Old Courthouse.

Helston FC A closed the gap to three points on the Legion for the runners-up spot with a 6-3 win over Porthleven FC, while the Godolphin Club A team had an excellent 6-3 win over Kennack A. Kennack E came from 4-2 down to defeat Prince of Wales 5-4.

Division 2 is becoming very close with the top three teams struggling again this week and just 11 points now separate the top eight teams. The Three Tuns are still top despite losing 5-4 to Kennack D while Lizard FC A won a tough game against Paris B 5-4 to go joint second.

Kevin Robinson, Debbie Richards ad tom Osborne won the first three singles for the Crown Inn as they defeated the Bell Inn 5-4 while Helston RBL had a fine 7-2 win over the Queens Arms. The Harbour B team have won the most games in the division and despite being in sixth spot last week they defeated the Coach and Horses 5-4.

The top two in the division 3 singles aggregates played each other last week, as Tim Johnson (Godolphin Club B) defeated Robert Cropper (Constantine SC). Tim's side also got the better of the division leaders in the match, winning the first five singles games in a 6-3 win. The Fitzsimmons A team came from 3-2 down to defeat their B side 6-3 while the Angel defeated Helston in division 4. The White Hart have opened a 13 point lead after a 9-0 whitewash against the Beehive.
