PORTHLEVEN 2 HOLMANS 5

THIS looks like a comprehensive victory for the visitors, but they had to come back from a two goal deficit after just half an hour of the contest to clinch victory.

Porthleven started sharply and pressurised Holmans all over the pitch but it was at the other end that the first real chance fell following good work down the left by Luke Healan who pulled the ball back for Carl Paparone but two defenders blocked his goalbound effort.

Then Healan was unlucky as Paparone returned the favour with a cut back, but just four yards out the ball took a wicked bobble and the chance went begging.

Porthleven opened the scoring after 20 minutes when Bryn Wheeler bundled the ball over the line following a corner. Within 10 minutes it was two, as Wheeler latched on to a long hopeful ball to lob 'keeper Danny Mitchell. It could have been worse as Porthleven also rattled the bar just after, then, just before the break, Gary Bell made a defence splitting pass for Paparone to run through and comfortably slot home.
