LITTLE or nothing has been said about the massive contributions the county council is making each month towards officers' pensions. Peter Stethridge, if he retires after 40 years service, will enjoy a pension of £70,000 per annum.
Additionally, they enjoy substantial mileage expenses when they undertake trips around Cornwall. I should also have said that, on retirement, all the officers will receive a possible six-figure tax free lump sum. Perhaps the public should be made aware of these facts also. Thank you for bringing these excessive salaries to the public attention. Keep up the good work.
