MARGARET Norton (Packet letters, January 26) did herself and her group a dis-service by attacking not only myself, my present action group, but also the many previous members of the regeneration group who, under my chairmanship from 1997-2003 carried out all of the major schemes in the village which now they sit back on their laurels and take credit for! It's a slur on those who actually rolled up their sleeves and did the actual work.
No-one decries the excellent work carried out by the many groups in Four Lanes but not one member of Mrs Martin's present "regeneration" group bothered to turn up at our last major event organised by the Four Lanes district project group at the Sportsmans Arms in the village on behalf of the tsunami disaster appeal, which raised over £1,020. Too busy perhaps? All of them?
Still they can redeem themselves by coming to our next major auction, which will be held at the Victoria Inn, Four Lanes, around Easter time, so please make a note Margaret and the rest of your committee and this time try to research what you speak.
Mr T Bray, The Square, Four Lanes
