REDRUTH RBL A hold a six point lead over Clinton SC A after last week's matches in division one of the Mining Snooker League, but Clinton A have a match in hand on their rivals.
RBL A beat their own B team 5-1 on Friday, with Andrew Martin beating Robert Bennetts for the B team's only success. Clinton A beat Playing Place 4-2, Chris Bassett and Thornton Crawford winning for Playing Place. There is a close battle for third place between Redruth British Rail, Playing Place, St Day and Redruth RBL B.
With Four Lanes looking certain to be relegated, the possible second relegation spot seems to lie between Leedstown, Pool and Breage. Leedstown did themselves some good by winning 4-2 at Breage. Penponds' 4-2 win at Pool included a 53 break by Taylor Veal and a 43 from Cornie Piredda. Andy Hicks looked on for a century for Bell's Court before failing on 64 as they beat Four Lanes 5-1. Darren Davey compiled a 44 break in Clinton B's 3-3 draw with St Day.
