PERRANWELL 0 ILLOGAN 4
ILLOGAN were 4-0 winners away to Perranwell in the Jolly's Combination League, but the visitors will be kicking themselves that they didn't win by a bigger margin.
Despite playing against the wind in the opening half, Illogan had much the better of play with Matt Callaway and Andy Hill both shooting wide.
Hill forced another good save from Dennis Fallowfield in the 19th minute and two minutes later Gareth Pitt stabbed the ball past the 'keeper and the post from six yards.
A goal was always likely and in the 21st minute Gary Sturmey, who had a terrific game in midfield, found Hill who unleashed a superb 25-yard shot from the corner of the box that gave the 'keeper no chance.
Illogan continued to create chances, but despite two one-on-ones with Fallowfield, it was the goalkeeper who came out on top.
A minute into the second half Hill beat three defenders but not the 'keeper who blocked his shot, but in the 47th minute a mix-up in the Perranwell defence provided Sturmey with a chance he wasn't going to miss after the 'keeper dropped a headed pass by his defender Fletcher.
