HUNDEREDS of affordable new homes are to be built in Camborne, Pool and Redruth. The first area to see construction work is Dolcoath where 350 homes will be built, nearly half of them affordable.

The massive overall scheme forms part of a radical new housing manifesto from CPR Regeneration, the urban regeneration company for the area. CPR has pledged to make up to 40 per cent of all new housing affordable on land that it owns and it will work with other landowners to deliver similar targets. The manifesto was welcomed by Regeneration Minister Jeff Rooker, who made a visit to CPR Regeneration's offices in Camborne last week.

"CPR Regeneration's housing manifesto details how large brownfield sites can be used to deliver quality affordable housing to meet local needs," he said.
