THREE young people from Cornwall are hoping they will return from France as world BMX champions this summer.
Donna Roberts, aged 14, from Stithians, Charlotte Green, 11, from Three Milestone and Luke Tamblyn, 14, will represent Britain at the World BMX championships at Bercy, Paris, in July.
The threesome are all members of Cornwall BMX club, and have represented Cornwall at races all over England.
Donna's father, Darren Roberts, said: "I am very proud. All the kids are away Bmxing and it has kept them off the streets. It is good to see them keeping fit when you hear about high levels of childhood obesity."
He added Donna, Charlotte and Luke - a former British champion - are training hard and feel confident for the world championships.
Mr Roberts said: "To wear the Great Britain shirt is a great honour."
