LAST week's Great Truro Pancake Race on Lemon Quay was a flippin' wonderful affair with teams from all over the city raising thousands of pounds for charity.
The Rotary Club of Truro's third annual pancake race raised £2,500 through team entries and individual sponsorship with the money being equally divided between Marie Curie Cancer Care, The Shelterbox Appeal and Tsunami Appeal.
The fundraising manager for Marie Curie said: "We thank all the members of Truro Rotary Club and all who took part." Twenty-five teams of four from local shops, businesses, societies, pubs, law firms and clubs competed for the fastest times with the "pancake pan trophy" donated by Mallets of Truro.
Heats were raced, with the fastest five going through to the final and Bishop Fleming taking the prize. Participants and observers got into the spirit of the day by sporting costumes and promoting fun.
Even Marie Curie's very own Daffy Daffodil mascot was there to cheer on all the teams.
