A FORMER member of the 1st Redruth Boys' Brigade Company returned for a visit this week but this time he bought his police patrol car with him.
MPS Phillip Grigg agreed to give the children an insight into the role of a police traffic officer and took the opportunity to bring home the vital road safety message.
Company captain Michael Semmens said: "Not only did the road safety message get to a captive audience of youngsters but they all had the opportunity to talk to Phillip and ask him questions about his day-to-day duties. I know they enjoyed the experience particularly looking around the patrol car and seeing all the equipment it carries."
"The children are completing their annual awards in various subjects including 'community awareness' and Phillip's contribution has been especially welcomed," said Mike. "It's also rewarding for the children to see former Brigade members return to share their experiences."
The Brigade in Redruth is enjoying a revival in its numbers with 22 young people now attending. Its emblem is the anchor and its motto: "Sure and Steadfast."
