DEVON County Council could be agreeing to a 3.5 per cent increase in council tax, the lowest rise for eight years, when it meets on Wednesday.
The budget includes an extra £20m for schools and £4.75m on affordable and supportive housing.
The Devon Pensioners Action Forum say this is still twice the rate of inflation and that a 0 per cent increase is possible for the coming year.
Total spending by the authority will be £669m.
