The proposed Carnival statue to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the procession "looks like a giant garden gnome wearing boxing gloves", according to the man who won a competition to design it.
Changes to Mike Whitcombe's original plans have sparked a bitter fued between himself and the Carnival committee who, he claims, have kicked him in the face by throwing out his winning idea.
