BUTTERFLY friendly farming practices are to be promoted in Somerset as part of new projects to help save three of Britain's most declining species.

Three projects led by the charity Butterfly Conserv-ation will be channelling over £350,000 into work to save the High Brown Fritillary, Marsh Fritillary and Heath Fritillary - from 1970-82 these species declined by 82%, 68%, and 38% respectively.
