POLICE are appealing for witnesses after an attempted robbery in Yeovil.

A 31 year old man was walking between the Armoury pub and The Park School towards the Queensway footbridge at around 12.15am on Monday, February 14, when he was approached by two men.

As the victim approached the footbridge near the school the suspects attempted to grab his trouser pockets before pushing him to the ground.

The two suspects made off over the bridge.

Both suspects, who were of medium build, were wearing black clothing and white trainers. One of the suspects is believed to be 5ft 10in tall and the other is thought to be 5ft 7in tall.

Police are urging any passing motorists, who may have seen the suspects running over the bridge, to contact them with any information.
