DEVON County Council's executive has backed plans for a £4.85 million investment into affordable housing.
The money will come from the county council's share of the Council Tax on second home owners this financial year and £350,000 from the council's own budget.
The investment package will include £2.35 million for general affordable housing and £100,000 for countrywide coordination of an affordable housing strategy. Also £2.50 million will be put towards supporting housing and specialist help for the elderly, people with disabilities and young people.
