WHAT sort of country are we that allows its government to ignore its children in need? Why do we allow it to turn its back, forcing them to depend upon public donations?

We applaud millionaire celebrities turning these collections into "fun day" photo opportunities that only serve to bolster their own egos, whilst they make meagre donations with pocket change. It is a confidence trick designed to prey on the compassion and good nature of the public whilst the government pours billions into the war machine instead of honouring its own children.
