TRURO Hospital Radio is £10,000 better off and ready to improve its studio facilities - thanks to the generosity of the Truro Lions Club.
On Saturday, the radio team received the substantial boost to their "Pound for Sound Appeal" when Alan Downie, president of the Lions Club presented a cheque to Mark Sanders, chairman of the radio charity.
The appeal, which began more than a year ago, has reached £23,000 to enable the radio station to move its studio from its very cramped conditions in Godrevy House to a new area in the main tower block at hospital in Treliske. (Full story in this week's Truro Packet)
