CAMBORNE Rugby Club was packed with boxing fans on Saturday night eager to support the local amateurs.
Boxers from all over the country came to compete in the event, which was organised by Camborne and Redruth Amateur Boxing Club.
The 14 bouts, between a combination of juniors and seniors, were well matched and made for an excellent show. Warrington's ABC coach, Colin Papperell, described the boxing event as "a fantastic evening for spectators."
T Hardman's boxing debut was impressive; he out pointed L Rosevear in the schoolboy contest to win his first-ever bout.
The fourth bout of the evening between S Ellis and S Spencer was a very aggressive one. The juniors battled it out for three rounds and Spencer went on to win by a unanimous decision and claim the trophy for best junior boxer.
Local supporters were cheered by M Nudd's majority win over T Conyon. Nudd caught his opponent with a solid left hook, which knocked him down in the first round.
