PETE Toogood expects to become sole owner and promoter of Somerset Rebels speedway team in the next week or so.
The 55-year-old, Wiltshire-based property developer, co-promoter for the last year, said this week that he had "almost reached agreement" with the Hewlett family, the owners, to buy the club.
Toogood was elected chairman of the British Speedway Promoters' Association at the AGM in London last week, having been vice-chairman until now.
