THE 14th Contemplate for Cancer event takes place at Taunton School chapel on Saturday, December 4, to raise money for cancer services in Somerset.

Last year's event raised £8,000, and organisers hope to beat that in 2004 for ultrasound breast cancer services at Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, and the Somerset Unit for Radiotherapy.

The event, from 10am to 1pm, will include a programme of seasonal music arranged by Valerie Wilkie with performances by Valerie Couch, the New Horizon Singers, St Michael's Church Choir from Galmington, the Somerset Hills Singers, Angela Widgery and Taunton Amateur Operatic Society.

Refreshments and stalls with cakes and gifts will be provided by Galmington WI, and sponsorship forms are available from Sister Ann Dibble at Musgrove's breast cancer care unit, One-Stop Community Store Galmington Post Office, Sheppy's Cider Farm at Bradford-on-Tone or organiser Mary Sheppy on 01823-461536.
