The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr Rowan Williams, will make his first visit as Archbishop to Truro Cathedral next Sunday afternoon, November, 28 at 2.30, when he will preach at an ecumenical service.
During the service, the Archbishop will be presented with a copy of the New Testament, which has recently been translated into Cornish - the culmination of seven years work by scholars. Three of those responsible for the translation work will be present.
The High Sheriff, Mr James St Aubyn, will be joined by the chairman of Cornwall county council, Mr Philip Tregunna, and the mayors or deputy mayors of virtually all the Cornish towns. The Cornish Language Board will be strongly represented, as will the Cornish Gorseth.
