Plymouth's Theatre Royal is set to close for a £2 million refurbishment and is appealing for funds. Since the city centre venue opened in 1982 around ten million people have a enjoyed a string of top shows.
The venue is set to shut its doors for a short time next summer for the improvement programme, which will include extensive redecoration and improved facilities for the disabled.
