ROADWORKS to improve the road surface on the M5 motorway between the Wellington and Tiverton junctions will begin on Mon-day.

The aim of the work, which will cost around £4.1 million, is to provide a quieter road surface for the final concrete sections of the motorway near Wellington.

It will mean a 50 mph speed limit and only two lanes along that section of the M5 until the work is completed next March.

The work is being carried out over the winter when traffic levels are at their lowest, but will be lifted for the Christmas holidays and completed in time for Easter.
