THE first three teams in division one of the West Cornwall Winter Pool League are beginning to open a small gap at the top. Helston RBL A lead by a point after a 7-2 win over the Godolphin A team, thanks to wins from Jim Hunt, Dave Carmichael, Andy Bright, J P Williams and Robert Williams.

Helston FC A have only dropped two singles games so far this season and they had a fine 7-2 win against the Fitzsimmons C team while, defending champions Wendron CC beat Porthleven FC 8-1. Kennack E had a superb 8-1 win against Helston CC A with Jason Hocking winning the only game for the Cricket Club and the Old Courthouse, have already won more games than they did last year, with a fine 7-2 win over the Prince of Wales.

During previous years, division two has always been the closest division and this year looks like being no different. Last week's leaders Three Tuns B lost 5-4 against the strong Helston RBL B side with Marcus Thomas, Gary Smith and Wayne Tucker winning their singles for the Legion. The Legion were trailing 3-1 at one stage.
