DAVID Phillips and Mal Holland won the four ball better ball at Praa Sands Golf Club on Sunday with 41 points, winning with 21 points on the last nine holes from Roy Hillyar and Paul Murrish, writes Simon Edwards.
Steve Strick and William Giddings took third place with 38 points while Jim Duffield and Derek Murrish were fourth with 37 points. Fifth place went to Mark Prisk and John Murrish with 36 points, won on the last nine holes with 20 points from Alun Dixon and Fred Hayne.
The wet and windy weather caused the postponement of the Saturday golf. The Cornwall Bowl match v Clowance at Falmouth was called off and the ladies' bottle bash was also cancelled. Both these games will, weather permitting, be played this coming Saturday.
