NO, Hannah, you were not the only one "to feel totally insulted by the remarks of the Oyster Festival Organiser..." I also refused to pay the £1 fee for entry to the tent. I did not complain, just walked away.
Who knows what I and countless others feeling the same would have bought from the tent, I never saw. I can understand paying to watch chefs throwing food around a pan and tasting the same but cannot agree to paying an entrance fee to buy goods.
Do Wave Productions know where a fair usually stands in Falmouth - at the Recreation Ground several times a year. On passing the fair at Regatta Week I saw nobody on the rides.
Wave Productions are a business out to make a profit but it seems out of the locals' pockets not the visitors as they claim at Regatta Week, with noisy outside entertainment which for local residents' peace and quiet would be better in an inside venue. Another story ...
