WE have today experienced the most ridiculous application of "job's worth" and "authoritarianism" ever, and one can only wonder if the world is going quite mad?
My husband, a severely disabled person, went to Boot's Chemist to pick up a prescription. He arrived around 2.45pm and was told, along with others waiting, that they were "not allowed" to dispense prescriptions until 3pm!
Now what possible reason could they have for such a stupid rule? The prescriptions were there already prepared for dispensing, the customers waiting to collect them and the poor assistant standing twiddling her thumbs waiting until the magic hour of 3pm arrived!
Is this just another obstructive and interfering dictate from Brussels? Or can it be political correctness gone totally berserk? Or perhaps it is this pompous, arrogant government who cannot find enough to interfere with in the lives and freedom of the individual?
Whatever it might be that caused this stupid rule to exist, there is no doubt about it that we, the British people, are being "managed" and it is high time that we all decided to stand up and say loudly and clearly, enough is enough and refuse to endure such irritating nonsense.
