STEVE Downing was in superb form for Mining Snooker League leaders Redruth RBL A on Friday, making a magnificent 106 break in their 4-2 victory over Breage. Shaun Tripconey and Peter Williams were Breage's winners.

Leedstown called off their match with Clinton SC A, being unable to raise a team, and a decision will have to be made as to whether they will be able to complete their fixtures.

Shock result of the week was Four Lanes' 6-0 win over Pool, after losing their first four matches of the season. Barry Scarlett was again on the mark with a 55 break, with Mark Shovel making a 53. Playing Place won 4-2 at Penponds after trailing 2-0. Bell's Court drew 3-3 at Redruth British Rail, with young Bobby Southworth showing great form. Redruth RBL B were 4-2 victors at St Day.

Redruth RBL A continue to dominate division two, defeating previously unbeaten Lanner 5-1. Dave Thomas was Lanner's only winner. Heamoor could only draw 3-3 with St Agnes. Redruth British Rail claim to have won their first match in the division since 2002 by beating Redruth RBL B 4-2.

For the Railmen Dave Salisbury made his second consecutive 40 plus break with a 41. Illogan's Clive Roberts also made a 41 break as his team finally managed a draw at Camborne Conservatives. The latter were 3-0 down before Steve Lovelock, Dave Harrington and John Buddle pulled the match around.

Four Lanes lead dvision three by four points from Camborne RBL, who have a match in hand. Both teams won 5-1 against Park Bottom A and Camborne Conservatives respectively. Fielding four young players, Redruth RBL finally won their first match, 5-1 at Redruth Club B.
