SEVERAL organisations and clubs in the Yeovil area have received grants from the Football Foundation for a variety of projects ranging from extra changing rooms to general funding for club development.
The funding is part of a nationwide scheme in which £260-million worth of grants have already been given. Recipients in the Yeovil area include Perry Street Youth Football Club receiving £5, 649 and Combe St Nicholas Football Club awarded £67, 000.
Stoke-sub-Hamdon Sports and Recreational Trust is also in the second phase of the application process for funding to create a new pitch and look set to receive £59,000.
Yeovil MP David Laws was told about the news in a letter from the Football foundation.
"This is excellent news for the teams and organisations involved," he said. "I look forward to the completion of these projects and welcome the benefits they will bring to sport in the Yeovil area."
