LUCKY James Daniel (12) from Feock near Truro has won a football skills training session with World Cup legend and former Manchester United star, Sir Bobby Charlton.

James was picked from nearly 8,000 hopefuls who entered a national competition sponsored by the leading washing powder, Persil, in association with the supermarket giant, Tesco.

Earlier this week, together with his younger brother Thomas (8), James took nine of his pals and fellow team mates from Falmouth United under 13s to train with the football hero at the famous Bobby Charlton Soccer School. They were then escorted on a VIP tour of Manchester United's Old Trafford football ground.

Speaking about his win, James said: "My grandma entered me into the competition at her local Tesco store and I didn't know anything about it, so it was a complete surprise when I got the call. It's absolutely wicked and I can't wait to spend the day with Sir Bobby and my mates from Falmouth. It will be really cool."

In order to choose who would accompany him and his brother on the trip, James put all the names of his team mates in a hat, and drew out the lucky nine.
