IN response to last week's report in the News, about Chard Amateur Theatre Society having to cancel a show for the disabled, Mayor of Chard, Cllr Tony Prior has stepped forward and offered his financial support so the show can go on.
The pantomime Puss in Boots is to be put on by CATS this year, and usually they use their last rehearsal as a free show for the disabled. With price increasees at the Guildhall, CATS chairman Shirley Huckett believed it would prove too expensive to put on the free show this time around.
Now the Mayor has stepped in and offered financial assistance, so the disabled will still receive a free viewing of the pantomime.
