HELSTON-based business the West Cornwall Pasty Co has been shortlisted for its fourth national award this year.

The company, which was named the Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year at the regional finals of the National Business Awards earlier this year, has now reached the last five in the Company of the Year category of the CBI Growing Business Awards.

Company director Arron Cocking said: "We have had a hugely successful year to date across a number of national business awards. In particular, it is very rewarding for everyone involved in the running of the company to be recognised by the CBI for the quality of management and business strategy."

The award winner will be announced at a gala dinner compered by former Tory leader William Hague at the London Hilton on December 2. Chancellor Gordon Brown and CBI director general Digby Jones will both speak at the dinner.

*The West Cornwall Pasty Co recently received further recognition in the Sage Business Awards 2004. The company was highly commended in the category for the fastest growing business with 100-plus employees.
