TAUNTON MP Adrian Flook is demanding action after reading the shocking revelations in last week's Somerset County Gazette about treatment waiting times for drug addicts.
The article focused on a 22-year-old heroin addict who had to wait 18 months to get an appointment with the Somerset Drugs Service.
Mr Flook said: "We need to have treatment available, especially for young people, to stop them getting on to the conveyor belt of crime.
"After reading the Gazette article last week I immediately wrote to the Somerset Drugs Service to ask why this man hasn't received any treatment."
